I had hoped to go back to Slovakia the year after my first trip, but my business hit a slump, and I couldn't afford any holidays until 2011.
Skyeurope had gone out of business, and the only flights to Slovakia were with Ryanair, and apart from their 'extra charges' for almost everything, I didn't want to have to travel to London, so I looked for alternate routes.
I chose Jet2, flying from Manchester to Prague, and then the train to get across the Czech republic and Slovakia.
Rather than pay a fortune for train tickets to Manchester, only to find there isn't a late train back to anywhere near home, I drove and parked near the airport.
Since my first trip, I had made a number of online friends, both on Facebook and several other sites. I contacted some of them and said I'd like to meet.
I worked out how far to travel each day, and where to stay. I booked my accommodation online.
I got a new camera, and an Android tablet so that I could keep in touch.
I visited Prague, Olomouc, Ostrava, Zilina, Poprad, Kosice, Banska Bystrica, Trencin, Trnava, Bratislava, and Brno. I will upload some photos and update this page, when I get time
Conclusion The Czech republic is almost as nice as Slovakia, and Prague is very interesting, although it can get very crowded!
